A chemical peel is a technique used to improve the appearance of the skin, face, neck, décolleté or hands. Chemical peels assist in treating wrinkles caused by the maturation process such as sun damage, reducing fine lines under the eye area and around the mouth along with treating certain types of acne, age spots, freckles and dark patches (melasma) due to pregnancy or taking birth control pills. Peels accelerate the exfoliation of dead skin cells so new, healthy skin is drawn to the surface and the skin will appear firmer and more youthful, hydrated, smooth and radiant. After a chemical peel, skin is temporarily more sensitive to the sun, so wear SPF daily. A series of peels should be performed to accomplish the best results. Our clinical Aestheticians will advise on the length of time apart and the amount of peels for each client’s skin type.
Jessner’s Peel is a combination of Resorcinol, Lactic and Salicylic Acid. Since resorcinol is a peeling agent, the client will experience noticeable peeling or flaking approximately 3 to 4 days after the peel. Resorcinol will increase the amount of peeling experienced after a peel. Peeling is usually light to moderate and depends on the skin condition and depth of the peel. This peel will help reduce fine lines, wrinkles, improve quality, tone and texture of the skin. A Booster which consists of a peeling agent is included if applicable to the clients skin type.
The MandeliClear Peel System was developed specifically for attenuating pigmentation issues associated with darker Fitzpatrick skin types. The system can be classified as a modified Jessner, containing lactic, salicylic and resorcinol, in an ethanol base with quillaja bark. It also contains 9% mandelic acid, which is often derived from almond and wild cherry sources. Mandel is German for almond. This peel is safe, gentle, and well tolerated by most skin types. A Booster which consists of a peeling agent is included if applicable to the clients skin type.
